In 2008, Gemma started training as a Forest School leader, taught by the original team who started the Forest School movement in the UK.
Since 2012, she has managed education and training programmes for London charities specialising in river geography and science, sustainability and waste reduction, water and climate change, Forest School and parks engagement.
Our popular holiday sessions have been running since 2013 and take place in urban woodland in South London.
They are not your average ‘holiday club’. The days are inspired by the Forest School ethos and many children come back year after year which gives them the opportunity to foster deeper outdoor knowledge and skills over time.
The Forest School and Beach School ethos is an inspirational learning process which follows a child-led approach in an outdoor setting. Sessions take place regularly throughout the seasons.
We aim to provide children with the individual support and focus needed to feel safe, happy and confident learning new skills and making new friends in the outdoors.
We share our expertise in Forest School and urban outdoor learning and play by providing adult training and consultancy support services.
Taking learning outdoors can improve physical and mental health, in addition to providing essential opportunities for children to gain knowledge and understanding of the world
through first-hand experiences.
